Testing Your Niche Against The Market...

If you've never tried a PPC campaign, a great idea is to begin with a small budget so you can test your market place.

Your goal is to find what your potential customers are looking for. There's no better place to test that out by going to Google. Google lets you to pay for an ad at the top, and off to the right of the page within the sponsored links results.

You may of never seen these small ads within Google, go to Google and type in any search term. If you type in "registry clean" in the search engine, you should see the natural/organic results on the left, as well as the list of sponsored links at the top and off to the right of the natural results.

Please do yourself a favor and dedicate yourself to a small ad within Google in order to learn the ropes, but use caution. Placing an advertisement sounds simple in theory, but you must be in control of daily account limits. Set a budget and be prepared to invest in clicks to test your niche. You need to find out what keywords and phrases your potential customers are searching for in Google when it comes to your niche.

You can try and guess these words, but your far better off using online tools and software to give you an inside look into a niche. There are free tools like the keyword tool within your Adwords account, then there is state of the art software programs like Google Cash Detective 2 that virtually spy on your competition and save you testing a niche.

I think keyword research is critical, if you have a limited advertising budget. You need to dig down into your niche and construct a keyword list with on high search volume and relatively low marketing competition.

When you put your chosen keyword phrase into your PPC campaign, each will be give a score, called a quality score. This score is set by Google, based on there assessment of a keywords relevance to your ad and your landing page. You need to get a high quality score for all your keywords. If your keywords have a high quality score, then you should see Google giving you cheaper clicks and better ad placements.

To your success, Lynne Carey
