Recently I read something about setting up your own affiliate marketing home business. The author said we could earn money easily in as little as...three hours per week!? So I put my mind to it: Can anyone really earn any kind of money with such a small investment of time? My answer: Yes, but with reservations. Here's three points to consider: 1. Alright, let's be optimistic and assume it's possible. We all can make some money with little time investment provided the business model is very simple and very doable. But consider this question... 2. Can you and I make a real income in a few hours a week? That's the real problem--- three tiny hours a week? Well, whose three hours are we talking about? When a seasoned expert uses three hours, that's different from when a newbie uses those same three hours. And that's where most affiliate marketing home business owners find themselves. These people most definitely do NOT find they earn money easily, if at all! Have you ever heard a truly great pianist? In theory, you'd imagine anyone could learn the piano. And you'd be right. But, on the other hand... The question comes down to: Can YOU play well, and would we all pay to hear you? Then, what really matters is... 3. It's what you bring to those three hours that counts! Here's where a lot of us fall down. Again: a good pianist doesn't start out good. He or she becomes good. How? By committing himself or herself to becoming good. (Sounds kind of obvious when you put it like that!) What is demanded of us when we commit to success and growth? It requires getting a mentor. A teacher. Someone who is where the aspiring musician wants to be, and who is capable of leading others to that place. So if we want to make it as affiliate marketers, and if we subscribe to the dream of investing minimum time, what must we do? You must find two things. Those two things will be everything to you. In an affiliate marketing home business, we will never earn money easily unless we commit, right now, today, to becoming as great as we imagine, PLUS we must seek out and find a guide--- someone else who is already where we want to be.
