Video is set to take centre stage for Google and just about everybody is trying to come up with a product to take advantage of this trend, some successfully, and some less so. And this is where Mike Koenigs and Traffic Geyser enters the fray. How it works When you take away the frills, such as the paid transcription feature and the audio stripping feature (for podcasts), Traffic Geyser is basically a video submission service. You take the video that you have produced (normally less than 10 mins long) and upload it to Traffic Geyser. They then upload that video to all of the social media and podcast sites around saving you lots of time. There are a varying number of social media sites that Traffic Geyser will submit to, and it depends on your membership level. The most common membership is the gold $97 per month. This gives you 3500 submission credits and allows you to submit to around 50 social media sites. The Good. Well, Traffic Geyser actually does what it says it does! That is, it submits your videos to lots of social media video sites around the net. Depending on the video site this can get you some pretty good backlinks. And if you do a good video, then you stand a better chance of that video going viral. The Ugly Side Of Traffic Geyser: Sadly, you have to manually set up all of the social media sites that you wish to submit to all by yourself, which is no laughing matter. It took me nearly 8 hours to fully set up one profile (50 sites), and you really need to set up 4 profiles for Traffic Geyser to be effective. Traffic Geyser does offer to set them up for you, but for $97 per profile. In order to get the best out of Traffic Geyser you need to have at least 4 profiles. This will take you about 30 hours to do, or you have to pay Traffic Geyser nearly $400 to get them to set it up for you. I grabbed a copy of Imacro for Firefox and automated a lot of the process, but it took me over a week to set this up. While the search engines love video, they really love new videos, and your video will slip in rankings fairly quickly in competitive markets unless it gets a lot of views. So, Should I Buy It? If you're using video to expand your web presence then Traffic Geyser is an excellent tool to automate your video submission, for getting more traffic from social media sites, and for getting some incoming links to your site. If you're looking to dominate your local market, then Traffic Geyser is excellent, as there is little competition (yet) for video in that demographic. Is Traffic Geyser Good Value For Money? Well, $97 per month is a fairly hefty price tag, and so you really need to be doing at least 10 videos per month to make it worth while. Final Thoughts On Traffic Geyser: I've had a love hate relationship with Traffic Geyser, and have started and then cancelled the service several times. Mainly this has been because i wasn't doing enough videos to warrant the $97 per month. If you are doing a lot of videos (5 - 10 per month) then i would say that the pricetag is worth the services that you're going to get. Otherwise I would go with TubeMogul. (they're free) So How Does Traffic Geyser Rank? Useability: 3 out of 5 (I'm not thrilled about the website, and the user interface isn't very intuitive) Usefulness: Traffic Geyser gets 4 out of 5 stars. It gets the job done and that's the most important thing. Value for Money: TG gets a 3 from 5 for this. They shouldn't be charging $97 for this service, but while there are very few competitors they can! That said, very cost effective for local marketers. Overall: 3 from 5. Would have been a 4 or maybe a 4.5 but i consider it to be too expensive. Other similar services: ContentBuzz or TubeMogul More information: For more info on Traffic Geyser just go to my video Traffic Geyser Review, or if you're ready to go, then click on Get Traffic Geyser and give it a test drive!
