As most Internet marketers well know, link building is one of the most important tasks for promoting a site. However, the methods for building links change over time, and some things such as reciprocal linking, no longer work as well as they once did. This page is meant to show marketers some of the latest link building methods that continue to work well.

Listed below are my favorite link building tips:

* Seek out one-way links when possible. Reciprocal links do not help much anymore, and while you might get some benefit from them, it is generally a better idea to spend time building one-way links instead. The quickest and easiest method for generating one-way links is to purchase them at places like Text Link Ads, or create them automatically using tools like SeNuke.

* If you have the money to purchase a listing in the Yahoo Directory, then by all means get listed. Unfortunately the cost of getting listed with Yahoo is high, currently costing $299/year. But if you can afford it, this one listing will give you a lot of link juice.

* Try to get your site listed in the Open Directory (Dmoz). With the exception of Yahoo, this one directory is the best place for your site to be listed. You will get lots of link juice being listed with Dmoz, and it is free, but unfortunately since it is human-edited directory, it can take time to get listed. Be persistent and resubmit if you don't get listed the first time.

* Do online article marketing. It is easy to burn out with this method, so the best path is to use automated software that will make the task easier for you. Magic Article Rewriter/Submitter is the article tool with the best reputation. You can also do article marketing with SeNuke.

* Create content on Web 2.0 sites, and link back to your site. This is a great way to create backlinks, but if you do it manually it can take some time. There are many sites to choose from but try to use the popular ones like Hubpages or Squidoo. You can automate Web 2.0 submission if you use SeNuke.

* Submit your site to social bookmarking sites. This technique, while powerful, can be tedious since there are dozens of social bookmarking sites to submit to. The best option is to use software that will automate the submission process. Two programs to consider are Bookmarking Demon and SeNuke.

* Make some videos and put them up on Youtube as well as other video sites. Youtube allows you to post a link in your video description, providing you with a great opportunity to link back to your site from a high-profile site like Youtube. If you are not sure how to create videos, try recording yourself doing a powerpoint presentation. Screen capture programs like CamStudio make this relatively easy to do.

While you don't have to employ all of these link building tips, using a few of them for each new page on your site should improve your site ranking by quite a bit.
