Me, Myself and I I am a woman who wears many hats; wife, mother, Certified Management Accountant, and the owner of an online kids clothing store. The motivation to start my own company came from when I returned to work after my maternity leave and failed to find the same personal satisfaction with my job that I had experienced before I had my children. I wanted to experience personal growth but still be actively involved in the lives of my children. Being a mom entrepreneur is one of the biggest and satisfying roles I have had in my life. I have the best of both worlds and I am much happier with this new balance in my life...and at the end of the day a happier better mom. The Inspiration behind the Idea Life with multiple kids at home is very busy, and when I was on maternity leave often my only relaxation time was 5 quick minutes reconnecting with everybody on the internet. The internet became my lifeline to the outside world to find the things I was looking for; it was my research tool that allowed me to better plan my day. Why did I need this research? Have you actually tried to look for something while shopping with two kids? It is stressful, it is not fun and the only way to survive and to get exactly what you are looking for is to know exactly where it is located before you step foot in the store. When you have kids the word leisurely does not apply to shopping outside of the house. In order to keep track of my kids when I am in a store I need both of my eyes and arms so I am physically not able to do much else. Any kid can lose their ability to actually follow instructions when there is a whole new world of clothing racks to explore. Since I would rather have fun with my kids instead of making their day and my day miserable by dragging them to a mall I started shopping more and more online. I could find lots of great baby or kid products but there was a very limited selection of affordable clothing for a mom on a tight budget. The big brand name stores were all international and by the time the customs duties were paid they became very expensive. Likewise there appeared to be expensive baby boutiques which were also outside of the budget. I knew there was a need in the market for affordable kids clothing. The End Result... When you throw all those factors into the mix the end result is an online clothing store for children called Growing Growing Gone. The store carries brand name childrens clothing at discounted prices for the baby, kid or teen on your shopping list and it is brought to you by a mom who has been there and understands. Online shopping is the hassle free way for a parent to shop. When you have five minutes you can leisurely browse the clothing racks at your own pace and should you have to put back on the parenting hat, your shopping cart will be there for you when you return. There is no embarrassment if your kids throw a temper tantrum, there is no worry that the clothing racks will become the perfect hide and go seek spot; everything can be done from the comfort of your own home. I spoke of my entrepreneur dynasty in the title. The dynasty I hope to leave for my children is the ability to dream and to have the courage to follow your dream. My dream has not been easy and some days there are not enough hours to get everything done, however I know it was the right decision for me.
